The Fort Worth Haiku Society hosted the Haiku Society of America quarterly meeting on March 14-16, 2008. Special thanks to FWHS members Cliff T. Roberts, Brenda Roberts, Robin Polizzi, Shirley Crow, David Crow, and Christi Davenport for making us feel welcome and for making the meeting a success!

Susan is a psychiatrist in Plano, Texas. She was the founding Vice President of the Fort Worth Haiku Society.

Johneye is a retired college professor. She is the newsletter editor for the Haiku Society of America and is Associate Editor of Simply Haiku.

LilaF > FWHS members Christi Davenport and David Crow. Later in the meeting, David suggested that we give an haiku presentation at a Japanese animation conference -- as an outreach activity. Over 6000 people attended the last such conference he attended.

David brought samples of Pocky--a Japanese snack food that is like a chocolate-covered pretzel, only better.

LilaF > Cliff starts the reading from small canyons 2, a compilation of haiku sponsored by the Southwest Region of the HSA. Jim Applegate is the editor of the small canyon anthologies.

LilaF > Helen Jones, a friend of Helen's, and Peter Webber.

LilaF > Brenda Roberts reads her haiku from small canyons 2. Cliff and Brenda are the guiding spirits of the Fort Worth Haiku Society. Her official title is Chairwoman (Secretary/Treasurer) of the FWHS.

Shirley Crow is Vice President of the Fort Worth Haiku Society. Peter Webber is a FWHS member.
